May 2022 Recap

Devan Zimmerman's May Recap

In May, I took some time to celebrate my birthday with a fun trip to the mountains, as well as a trip to the beach later in the month. I also met some new friends, went on a new hiking trail, and visited a new bookstore (so much “new!”).

I didn’t write nearly as much as I did in April, but I still managed to get a couple thousand words in. I can say I now have over 30 pages completed for my manuscript. I will continue writing over the next month or so, but will really get back into daily writing in July for the next CampNaNoWriMo.

I managed to read a few books as well during my adventures. I’ll provide a review for each of these in my Q2 recap (keep an eye out for that in early July). Below are the books I read in May and what I rated them on Goodreads:

  • A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • A History of Wild Places by Shea Ernshaw ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • A Spindle Splintered by Alix E. Harrow ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Lore by Alexandra Bracken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton ⭐️⭐️⭐️
